That’s where editors serve their purpose: helping you say what you want to say in a way that the reader will understand and respond to positively. The best editors consider both writer and reader when they work. A well-written piece is interesting and engaging as well as informative or narrative. A well-edited piece will not distract the reader from the discourse or story with errors, inconsistencies, or gaps.
